Payitaht Abdulhamid History:
The series follows the important events that have marked the last 13 years of Sultan Abdul Hamid’s rule, who rules the Ottoman Empire from his capital, Payataht. His reign included a war that led to the victory of the Ottoman Empire, the Greek War. It also displays the demand for land from Palestine and the first Zionist Congress. One of the important projects in which the Sultan succeeded is the work of the Hejaz Railway, as well as the development of other railways, telegraph lines, and industries. During his reign, the Sultan faced many opponents from all sides, from Britain and Russia to those rumored to be loyal to him. The main theme of the series is the struggle and fight to the end.
The series begins in the twentieth year of the Sultan’s reign. They are planning a big project, the Hijaz railway. But Sultan Mahmud Pasha’s son-in-law and the British and Theodore Herzl are trying to sabotage this project. In the harem, on the other hand, the intense rivalry between Bidar Sultan and Saniha Sultan extends to their family. The daughters of Sultan Murad’s brother also come to the palace. The new century begins. Sultan Abdul Hamid changed the fate of the Ottoman Empire, which had not won the last two centuries, and won the Greek War. The war that ended at the front is now going on. Parvus, the proclaimed minister of the world monarchy, poses as an engineer and enters the palace. The sultan, with his development steps, is preparing the state for a major war and launching the oil movement, which will begin wars for the new century after the railways have moved.
The palace is trying to heal the wounds of another serious incident and mourns Fahim Pasha. Sultan Abdul Hamid arranged for Parvus prison in Britain. The partner in this plot, Crowley, is found hiding in Egypt and punished by Khalil Khaled. Fuad Effendi, the son of a former Khedive of Egypt, comes to Bytes. Bidar Sultan cannot forget what happened to her. The revolution was crushed and the palace fire was extinguished. However, its consequences and devastation persist. Sultan Abdul Hamid holds Humayun’s birth celebrations to show that the Ottoman Empire was not and cannot be destroyed easily. News of Payitaht’s victory brings Abdul Hamid’s enemies together once again. During the ceremony, Zuluflu Ismail Pasha was revealed to be the older brother of Sultan Abdul Hamid, much to the astonishment of everyone, including the enemies.
The season and series end with Sultan Abdul Hamid’s dream of going into a long hall to see the great former Ottoman rulers. The rulers depicted were Suleiman the Magnificent, Selim Al-Sitrin, Mehmed the Conqueror, and finally Osman Ghazi. Each ruler sends a short message to Abdul Hamid. The last scene shows Abd al-Hamid standing in front of a painting of himself in the hall.
